Artist
Zhen (Dai Zhen Chew) is a Melbourne based artist, currently studying her Masters in Fine Arts (Drawing) at Monash University. Her practice explores time-based performance drawing, an hybrid art form which embraces the combination of video technology and traditional drawing methods. Her work explores visual perception as it relates to the understanding of self and identity. Zhen has recently shown in Federation Square creating a live performance drawing on the big screen. She has been a finalist in the Dobell prize for drawing, shown in the Gallery of New South Wales.
Zhen will create an interactive drawing performance of the space as well as the viewers. Her drawing will be streamed directly to a screen as people interact and watch the drawing.
