This October, Kumuwuki / Big Wave, the nation’s largest arts industry event will showcase the Ngarrindjeri culture of the Alexandrina region.
Held in Goolwa, South Australia from 18 – 21 October, the conference is the first in the event’s 14 year history to have a dual Indigenous/ non Indigenous title.

The nation’s largest arts industry event will cook up a storm this October when Kumuwuki / Big Wave, the Regional Arts Australia National Conference hits Goolwa.
Over four days, October 18 – 21 speakers, presenters and performers from across the country and overseas will converge on the Fleurieu for the biennial event.

Over two days, October 19 – 20, Kumuwuki / Big Wave will showcase the rich Ngarrindjeri culture of the Alexandrina region.
The first of its kind, the Ngarrindjeri Sharing Circle boasts a unique village atmosphere and is open to the public as a living art space.

The biggest arts industry event on the nation’s calendar is looking for ten young people from the Fleurieu region, ages 17 – 25, to take part in a groundbreaking interactive performance, ‘If there was a colour darker than black I’d wear it”.
The chosen ten will join forces with the Kumuwuki team, Country Arts SA and leading performance art companies Rising Damp and Illuminart to take audiences on an unforgettable journey through Goolwa.
