Saving the world one lanyard at a time!

Here at Kumuwuki / Big Wave we are looking to recycle pre-loved and/or unused lanyards for delegates in Goolwa this October. We’re happy to receive any type of lanyard you have collected over the years from festivals and conferences.

Back in 1998 I was a speaker at Regional Arts Australia’s very first conference and spoke about the interconnectedness of collaborations between urban and regional based youth theatre companies. Back then the internet was the burgeoning interwebs and Facebook was not even a glimmer in Mark Zuckerberg’s eye. Now in 2012 as the Artistic Director I can assure you we will be measuring the tweets with the hash tag #kumuwuki. Oh how networking has changed and yet stayed the same. Despite the convenient online tools, we still crave that face-to-face interaction and that lively moment of discourse in this remote and vast country of ours.

Today Kumuwuki / Big Wave's Artistic Director, Steve Mayhew, announced three highlights from the artistic program - Home by Craig Walsh, If There Was A Colour Darker Than Black I'd Wear It, by Rising Damp and Illuminart, produced by Country Arts SA, and Southern Encounter, by Wired Lab

The Hon John Hill MP, South Australian Minister for the Arts, today announced Kumuwuki / Big Wave as the name for the 2012 Regional Arts Australia National Conference.

The official highlights package was also launched today, providing a sneak peek of the conference line-up confirmed by Conference Artistic Director Steve Mayhew.
